Project Description

The design team of Stewart-Cooper-Newell Architects collaborated with Florence-based Collins Almers Architecture to provide design services for this new facility housing Florence County’s state of the art 911 Central Dispatch and Emergency Operations Center. As the county had outgrown their existing facility, SCNA designed a larger building to meet their current needs and provide for future growth for years to come.

After assisting in site identification and selection, and developing a program for construction of a 12,000-15,000sq/ft building, SCNA provided schematic drawings and a conceptual cost estimate of the facility for county approval. Design specifications, drawings, and contract documents for bidding and construction were established, all appropriate documents for construction were produced, and construction administration. services were provided. By working closely with our structural engineers, roofing and storefront manufacturers, the facility has been designed to withstand 200 mph winds and a category 5 hurricane.
